2 - Cross Vane Panel Trap, Black |
3001 - General Trapping Procedure |
Trap Spacing: When trapping for woodborers or bark beetles, separate traps with different lure combinations by at least 30 meters (98 feet).
Method Notes: 3/26/2019: Pre-treated Fluon®-coated cross vane panel traps are in stock at the survey supply warehouse. However, the inventory is limited so it is not possible to replace all traps at this time. Place orders for new traps if 1) your survey includes targets that require fluoropolymer treated cross vane panel traps or 2) your cross vane panel traps are near the end of their life expectancy. You may also continue to treat the traps you have in stock using the "Guidance for applying fluoropolymers to panel traps" (see References section). the Trap Product Names will not change in the IPHIS Survey Supply Ordering System.
4/23/2018: Please note, the panel trap must be treated with Fluon® or Teflon™ for maximum efficacy. Teflon™ and Fluon® are available as aerosol sprays and suspensions, respectively. Either can be applied to the surfaces of panel traps. Once dried, the fluoropolymer creates a slick surface that prevents beetles from escaping the trap. See "Guidance for applying fluoropolymers to panel traps" in References section.
